Celtic return to league duties after a very disappointing trip to Molde. There’s a chance now to go 4 points clear after Aberdeen failed to win again, only managing a 1-1 draw to Motherwell. Celtic could be boosted in terms of players with the possibility that James Forrest will be fit and available for selection.
Charlie Mulgrew is still out injured while new signing Carlton Cole isn’t fit enough yet to feature.
It will be interesting to see whether Kris Commons will be selected, after his outburst at Ronny Deila in Norway after being substituted. Commons has apologised for it since, and Deila said after the match that Commons will play many more games for Celtic. So it does look as though it has already been forgotten about.
Predicted starting XI
Simunovic travelled to Norway during the week but didn’t play, however I think now is the time to get him back into the team after yet another dismal defensive display at Molde. Tierney could replace Izaguirre at left back after he was at fault for the second Molde goal.
Stefan Johansen has to be dropped. Another game passed by where he was ineffectual and he seems to be untouchable at the moment. He simply cannot be in the starting team come tomorrow, Rogic already proving to be a much better player than him this season so far. As mentioned above, Commons should start after it seems the argument has been swept under the carpet already.
The only other position is the striker, where Ciftci started the last league game against Motherwell and scored the winning goal. However I expect that Griffiths will start this one.
In the last seven games vs Dundee Utd, Celtic have scored 17 goals while United have only managed to get 4 goals.
Dundee United have lost 11 of their last 13 away matches, winning just 1. The last time they won at Celtic Park was 1992.
In the last 3 seasons, Celtic have played 11 domestic matches immediately after losing in Europe and have won 9 of them, drawing the other 2.

As I said in the last article, I’ve got absolutely no inside information about these bets, they are simply for a bit of fun and something different from other match previews.
One out of two of the last tips came in, with over 2.5 match goals.
Tips for this weekend: Leigh Griffiths to score two or more goals at 5/2. Also Celtic to win & over 3.5 goals at 11/10. Wait for team news before taking Griffiths.
