Celtic vs Dundee: Preview, predicted XI and betting tip

Celtic had the chance to open up a 3 point gap against Hearts, but were denied a victory with a last minute wonder strike by Sow. Aberdeen had failed to win the day before after clawing it back to 2-2 after being 2-0 down to Inverness. Celtic are now 1 point clear at the top with a game in hand. Celtic take on Dundee in the next set of fixtures with Aberdeen playing Partick Thistle.

Celtic go into the game with a few additional injury worries. Boyata (hamstring) is a doubt after being substituted against Hearts. Stuart Armstrong (back) is also a doubt but will be assessed before the game.

Griffiths will miss out yet again after Ronny confirmed he won’t be ready for the midweek game. Scott Brown, Saidy Janko and Charlie Mulgrew all remain out long term. Kris Commons could be available for selection again after recovering from a knock.

PREDICTED XI

Always repeating myself for the defensive back four, but it simply has to remain the same in order to gain experience. Minus forced changes of course. Boyata is a doubt as mentioned above and will be replaced by Ambrose. The other three should remain the same. Izaguirre could replace Tierney as Ronny likes to give them a game on game off.

The two defensive midfielders should remain the same with Bitton and Johansen. Johansen really isn’t performing at the moment but there’s nobody else really available to step in, possibly McGregor.

The front three in the midfield line will change slightly with Armstrong struggling to be fit and the possible return of Commons. If Commons is fit, I expect him to start with the absence of Griffiths. Forrest and Rogic to start alongside him if so.

Up front we are really missing the main man Griffiths. His absence is really showing in the last couple of matches. Ciftci just doesn’t look like he’s going to make it at a club like Celtic. He does try, you can see that, but questions are still there. Hopefully he can prove me and many more wrong. Cole will come off the bench if required.

PREVIEW

In the last five meetings between the clubs, Celtic have won all five of them with an aggregate score of 17-2.

The last five meetings between both at Dens Park have seen Celtic winning four of them and drawing the other.

Celtic’s victories in the above mentioned games have been 2-0 twice and 2-1 twice. The draw was 1-1.

You have to go back to May 2001 to find the last time Dundee recorded a victory against Celtic. They won 2-0 at Celtic Park.

In the last 15 head to heads, Celtic have won 13 of them and drawn 2.

Celtic haven’t been beaten at Dens Park in 17 matches with 13 wins and 4 draws.

In all fixtures between both, Celtic have won 30 out of 36 matches, drawing 5 and losing 1.

BETTING TIP

Another close run in the match against Hearts. Griffiths was tipped to score 2 but he didn’t start so the bet voided. The other was very unlucky with Celtic and over 2.5 goals, only to be denied by that stoppage time equaliser. Onto the Dundee game and tips are as below:

Celtic to score over 2.5 team goals at 5/4.

Celtic to win both halves at 2/1.

Good luck!
